​​The Funding Commission is governed by a board of seven members, which includes three Cabinet secretaries (or their designees) representing Education and Labor, Economic Development, and Finance and Administration. Four additional members are appointed by the Governor to represent specific industry segments relating to workers' compensation issues.

  • One member to represent labor, from a list of three provided by the Education and Labor Cabinet.
  • One member to represent employers who purchase workers' compensation coverage from insurance companies, from a list of three provided by the Economic Development Cabinet.
  • One member to represent insurance companies, from a list of three provided by the insurance advisory organization for Kentucky.
  • One member to represent self-insured employers, from a list of three provided by associations representing self-insured employers.

Each member is appointed to a four-year term, with terms staggered so that only one of these four positions is subject to appointment or reappointment by the Governor in a single year. The Funding Commission Board annually elects a chair, vice-chair, and secretary-treasurer.

All meetings of the Funding Commission Board of Directors are held in the Boardroom at 9:00 AM EST, in the Funding Commission office, 42 Mill Creek Park, Frankfort, Kentucky. All meetings are open to the public.
